Badminton's gang outing
Yesterday was Felicia B’day. We didn’t celebrate over her birthday cos as usual Thursday night we have badminton session. But the badminton’s guys are planning to have a proper dinner to celebrate both our birthday and in conjunction with our farewell. I made 2 red painted eggs for Felicia early in the morning, a very Chinese style of greeting. I remembered someone told me that birthday must eat either ‘shou mian’ or red egg. May be it’s just old fashioned belief. Indeed, I’m conservative and old-fashioned minded at times, at least I’m believing in some of the beliefs.
We went to the court as usual. After one game, Kwang and Felicia were discussing about having a quick coffee at somewhere near Surfer’s. hmmm…While I was still recovering from the badly beaten match, they asked me whether to go or not. At first, I was hesitating cos we were wearing such lousy workout attire and perspiring and stinking after the game. I didn’t feel good going in that condition. But Eventually I followed the majority and had a quick coffee at Coffee club in Surfer’s. Kwang was kinda generous. He treated everyone on the table for cakes and coffee. He works in Seaworld and they are given few free entry tickets annually. He knew that we still have not been to Seaworld and hence offered to give us the free ticket that cost $62 normally. He even said that we could swim and snorkel with the reef shark for free whereas those guys that are going need to pay $20 discounted price instead of the normal price $60. Sounds good isn’t it?? What if we could know him earlier, cos for all the theme parks they can do internal ticket swapping among the staff which means he could get free tickets for Movieworld, Dreamworld, Paradise Country, Oz Zoo and Oz outback show. So darn great...man!!! However, moral education teaches us don’t be too greedy. Yes! I’m applying it so well…hehe…anyway I’ve been to 2 out of 5 and will be going to Seaworld next Saturday. sooo...I'm kinda satisfied!!Photos taken at coffee club.

Can you see how horrible looking was I?? Always that very limited piece of home clothes, carrying my identity as a NUS student all around the world. What the hell...!! Should not have brought this shirt.
Let me introduce the gang from the badminton club. They are Jesse an Oz (Thai-Singapore mix), Ty from 'Meung Thai' (Thailand), Bounmee from Laos, Kwang an OZ (from Sg) and Keegan from Indon. I think their age range should be from 18 to 40++...haha...Quite diverse right!?

When I said I could understand a bit of Thai, it amused Ty and Bounmee. Laos people could speak Thai too. Thereafter, there were trying to test my Thai! OMG...I only studied level 1, what do they expect from me? I cant understand more than Khop Khun Kha and Sawatdii Kha...Alamak! But anyway, they said it's quite impressed to know that a chinese girl from Malaysia could understand Thai. Learning language is very fun (sanuk) and interesting. If I were to have more time to study, I would like to learn more than that, may be Japanese, Spanish and etc. Tomorrow we'll be going to Sunshine Coast which is 2.5 hrs drive up north from here. Wayne is having badminton tournament over there so we are tagging along to sightsee. Labels: Aussie
