Waitangi Day
We went to waitangi Day celebration yesterday. To understand why they celebrate Waitangi Day you may visit
Our main purpose to join the celebration was to eat hangi. Hangi is a NZ moari word for a method of cooking in an outdoor pit oven. It is done in New Zealand as an alternative to the BBQ, but often saved for special occasions due to the large amount of time and preparatory work involved. (Quoted from Wiki).
However due to the overwhelming responses, the first batch which came out at 1230pm was sold out in just a few minutes and the second batch will only ready at 230pm. We could not afford to wait there for such a long time as Wayne needed to visit his mum. Therefore, we decided to give up hangi and went for our grocerry shopping. Three of us were so dissapointed especially Wayne.
The photo below was taken in the tent for stage performances. I watched some of the bands from Waikato U and Moari Dances from some dance groups. The performances were so profesionals especially the dances. Two things I observed from the Moari dance, one, you need to keep long hair, two, you need to have big and firm bum. hahaz...

The photo below was taken at the spit that I went last weekend. There is a 6 stars hotel named Palazzo Versace owned by the designer label Versace. It just beside The Mariners Cove and opposite Sheraton Mirage (5 stars).

Mariners Cove
Behind me is a Shopping centre named Marina Mirage mainly cater for filty rich people.

The summer fruits are very cheap. Peaches, nectarines, plums, mangoes....range of 1.00-1.99/kg or sometimes even lower price. so cheap and so tasty! Yummy.
